Last day in Lima

It’s a bittersweet post that I am writing, but am finishing up my time here in Peru. It’s not an indefinite goodbye…who knows what the future will bring? I will still be working from the US for my projects here, maintaining connections and continuing to work. But while I’m excited about moving home, I’m also going to miss so much about my life here:

The people, the food, the scenery.

Definitely will not miss some other things:

The pollution, the bureaucratic hurdles…

But with any experience, you take the good with the bad. It makes you grow, it makes you change, it makes you live. I have no regrets on what I’ve done or what I’ve experienced here.

Seems like only yesterday I first arrived and started to get to know the people, the culture, the city…and now that “almost one year” has passed (ha..pun intended), I know I will go back to the States with a renewed sense of appreciation and a grander perspective of the world.

It’s been beautiful and wonderful, frustrating and infuriating all at the same time. And I loved it all.

Will continue to update from my last few travels, especially Lake Titicaca and Quito, Ecuador. But for now, as I sign off, thanks for sharing 11 months with me abroad. It’s been real. This is not goodbye; it is hasta luego.

Un abrazo fuerte, nos vemos pronto.Chau! Image
